Engr. Felix Atume, FNSE, mni is a world class Highway and Transportation Engineer. Engr. Atume is a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria where he bagged a Master's Degree in Highways Engineering and Transportation (1991) and a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (1981). He also holds an MBA (Management) from the Benue State University, Makurdi. He worked with the Benue State Government as a civil servant where he rose to the rank of Director - Civil Engineering. He served as the Director of Benue State Rural Development Agency, BERDA from 1994 – 1997 and was then appointed the Honourable Commissioner for Works in Benue from 1997 – 1999. During this period, over 22 towns in Benue State were electrified, many roads and bridges built and other numerous critical infrastructure provided across the state. Engr. Atume served as the Registrar of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, COREN from March 12, 2007 to March 2013. This was the time COREN witnessed the highest number of Registered Engineering Personnel and also the construction of a befitting head office for COREN. Engr. Felix Atume also served as the Secretary General of the Federation of African Organizations of Engineers from 2007 - 2012. He belongs to many professional bodies including: Fellow, Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE); Fellow, Institute of Structural Engineers (FNIStructE) ; Fellow, Nigerian Institute of Civil Engineers (FNICE) ; Member, National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos, (mni); Member, Institute of Highway and Transportation (MIHT); Member, American Society of Civil Engineers (MASCE).
Engr. Atume has written and presented many technical papers on Highways Engineering and Transportation. He is also an expert on Public Private Partnership Projects.
